Port Klang By-Election?
Berikut adalah petikan berita dari Star Online:
KLANG: The Port Klang state constituency in Selangor has hit the political rough seas which may trigger the country’s 15th by-election. The seat has been declared vacant by state assembly Speaker Datuk Teng Chang Khim on grounds that its elected representative, Badrul Hisham Abdullah, had failed to attend assembly sittings for a stretch of six months since July 15 last year. Badrul Hisham raised a wave of protests, claiming Teng was unfair because he did attend the opening ceremony of the last state assembly meeting in November last year.
Other developments:
The Selangor government must ensure Badrul Hisham was really absent from assembly sittings for six months, said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek; The Election Commission has yet to receive a vacancy notice from the state assembly; and Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusoff said the relevant laws would be looked into before the next course of action can be taken.
